The Boat...

Tongarra

whitsunday island charterTongarra is a purpose built boat for chartering passengers around the Whitsunday Islands group. She is a catamaran just under 12 metres long and 8 metres wide.

She has 26 beds, men’s and women’s toilets and 1 outside shower. Being a catamaran she is a stable boat, which allows you to move freely around the boat even when under sail, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and top up their tan and even better everyone may take their mattresses out at night and sleep on the deck. Truly a memorable experience, at sea sleeping under the stars! This is a unique experience, as most boats do not have the room nor do they allow you to take the mattresses out of the cabins.

Tongarra is 14 years old and one of the oldest established businesses here in the Whitsundays, with over 10 years experience. When we started here there
were only eight boats, now there are over 70, many have come and gone yet
we are still giving fantastic trips and still running very well.

cabinWith some 30,000 people having been our guest on Tongarra, since then there have been many friendships, relationships, even marriages and many happy memories started when they innocently bought a cruise on Tongarra.

We understand there are many boats to choose from and it is important for us that potential passengers are placed upon the right boat. Tongarra is placed in the budget category that is she is on the lower end of price. This does not mean that you are not on a quality boat. If you are looking for value and quality we feel that we have that end of the market covered.

Tongarra is a great fun trip with a very friendly crew. We place absolute importance on every trip being the best it can be given the weather conditions. It is a family run business and our only boat, so we have all of our energies aimed at keeping the highest standard, good food, your safety, clean and
comfortable boat, friendly and fun crew and the most enjoyable memory of your
sailing trip around the Whitsundays.
