Tour Details:

Your tour commences at your accommodation in Cairns where our
experienced Rainforest Guide collects you.
After picking everyone up we depart Cairns by 8am. We head North
and travel along Australia's Premier scenic coastal road in a
comfortable air-conditioned bus. Our first stop is the famous
Mossman Gorge. Surrounded by lush rainforest – The gorge is a
magical location for a refreshing swim. The clear mountain river
cuts through thick rainforest and tumbles over boulders on its
journey to the sea.
After the Gorge we have morning tea.
Heading North we cross the mighty Daintree River on a cable
ferry and enter the Cape Tribulation section of the Daintree
National Park.
Here things really begin to change, we think, for the better. We
find the road narrows and the rainforest towers over us as we
enjoy the ever-increasing beauty of this ancient Gondwana
Rainforest.
We stop at the Alexandra Range Lookout, which gives you a
birds-eye view of the Daintree River, Port Douglas and on a
clear day, landmarks south of Cairns.
After the lookout, we experience the Marrdja or Jindalba
Boardwalk. Here we see trees that have been caught in a time
capsule – they haven't changed in millions of years. As we pass
through the ancient rainforest, the Marrdja Boardwalk leads us
over a complex mangrove swamp system. Very interesting.
Passengers staying overnight will be delivered/collected to/from
their selected accommodations at approx 2pm. For passengers
staying overnight, lunch is not included. This is due to the
separate locations of accommodations and the time taken in
pick-ups and drop-offs.
For our Day trippers it is time for a picnic lunch at Cape Trib
Beach day use area (weather permitting). After lunch take a walk
on the stunning Cape Tribulation Beach – where the 'Rainforest
meets the Reef'. We then head back towards the Daintree River.
We stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company to give you a chance
to buy a tropical fruit Ice-Cream (Time Permitting & eaten on
the bus).
It's Croc spotting time! Your Crocodile/Wildlife spotting
adventure on the Daintree River takes us through the domain of
the large Estuarine Crocodiles. Egrets wade near mangroves in
the murky water of the river where crocodiles wait patiently for
a meal. We look for Pythons, Tree Snakes, Butterflies and lots
of other wildlife on this cruise. Everyone will have afternoon
tea at this time.
On our way home we visit the picturesque township of Port
Douglas. We stop at Rex Range lookout before arriving back in
Cairns after an exciting day at about 6.30pm.
PLEASE NOTE:
Crocodylus is not located at Cape Tribulation. If you stay at
Crocodylus you will not travel to Cape Tribulation and you will
not participate in the guided rainforest walk.
